Washington: US President Donald Trump has made a major announcement following the agreement on a ceasefire with Iran. He stated that the United States and Iran will work together. He also claimed that a "regime change" has taken place in Iran. Furthermore, Trump spoke of removing uranium from Iran. Trump also declared that any country selling weapons to Iran would face an immediate 50 percent tariff imposed by the United States. He added that no exemptions or concessions would be granted in this regard.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote: "The United States will work together with Iran—which, we have determined, has undergone a very successful 'regime change'! There will be no further uranium enrichment. Together with Iran, the United States will dig up and remove all the nuclear 'dust' buried deep underground (B-2 Bombers). This remains—and has already been—under very strict satellite surveillance. Nothing has been touched since the date of the attack. We are currently negotiating with Iran regarding relief on tariffs and sanctions, and will continue to do so. Agreement has already been reached on many of the 15 points."
Following this, Trump posted a second message on Truth Social. It stated: "Any country that supplies military weapons to Iran will face an immediate 50% tariff (duty) on all goods sold by them to the United States. No exemptions or concessions will be granted!" President DJT."
India on Wednesday welcomed the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran and called for "de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy" to ensure lasting peace in West Asia. The Ministry of External Affairs stated, "We welcome the ceasefire and hope that it will lead to the establishment of lasting peace in West Asia. We have consistently maintained that de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy are essential to bring an end to the ongoing conflict as soon as possible."
The Ministry added, "This conflict has already caused immense suffering to the people and disrupted global energy supplies and trade networks. We hope that unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and global trade will continue. Iran and the US have agreed to a conditional ceasefire, which includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping."
